Northern Irish Open 2013 was only the second competition to be held on the island of Ireland and was the first and only competition to date that has been held in Northern Ireland. Daniel Sheppard won the competition with an average of 12.10 in the final. Kelsey McKenna placed second with an average of 12.59 and Ciará Beahan placed 3rd with an average of 13.65.
The main success stories of the competition were that Kelsey McKenna and Ciarán Beahan both broke 6 Irish National Records each
The National Records that Kelsey McKenna broke were 2 3×3 averages, 4×4 average, Blindfolded single &average, and multi blind NR single solving 9/10 cubes in 50:44!
The National Records that Ciarán Beahan broke were 3×3 single, 5×5 average, pyraminx average, 6×6 single, and 7×7 single & average!
Daniel Sheppard also broke the UK fewest moves record with a move count of 26!
